I took my Wii to work to demo for the Promotions department and by doing so it got me re-excited to have a Wii. It do so because few at work had ever played with a Wii - they had just heard about it. Everyone had so much fun playing Guitar Hero and Wii Sports. It reminded me just how fun the core set of games can be. Games that I've pretty much forgotten about. So if you're finding your Wii a bit depressing lately, toss in Wii Sports and give tennis another go round, you might be surprised how out of "shape" you are. An interesting thing happened this past week. I took my Wii to work to demo for the Promotions department and by doing so it got me re-excited to have a Wii. It do so because few at work had ever played with a Wii - they had just heard about it.

When I first got the Wii, I played it nonstop. Super Paper Mario, Cooking Mama, all the party games, etc. But after about a year, I found I was just getting online to see if anyone sent me any Miis. The 360 has had a solid run of fun games ever since we bought it. Not to mention all the arcade games that are cheap and super fun. In comparison to my DS though, even the XBox can't keep up. Even now when I barely have time to do my own laundry, I will still make time for the DS, and the XBox is gathering dust.... Oh well. I have both the Wii and the 360. I really like playing sports games like this, and I would rather have a traditional controller on these types of games. If they adopted this idea, the types of games that came out would be endless. There's a point where you can be *too* family friendly and Nintendo is already there. I'm not looking for a GTA4 or Halo experience. I just want some simple, fun games that keep me entertained and are fun to play with others. And I agree with Lorkin again in regards to the DS. Because the technical limitations are pretty high, the games themselves have to be a little more creative and tightly designed, and so far that's proven to be a great thing. Games like Contra 4, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, and Nanostray 2 are rocking my game world right now. I'm not a graphics whore and I personally like the 16-bit days the best, graphically speaking, and the DS is that style at its best. And where the Wii tries to use the mouse controls, the DS *can* use the mouse model because the stylus gives you great control. So all the point-and-click games on the PC translate very well to DS. And the fact I can buy two DSes for less than any single TV console makes it great for two. And if sales and upcoming titles are any proof, the DS will be around for another year or so at least.
