The first trip to the Columbus Zoo I remember was with my kindergarten class. I remember that trip for two reasons: I remember eating lunch in the big shelter house with all my friends, and I remember seeing a giraffe eat from a tree. Up until recently, that was probably the most active I’d ever seen animals at the zoo and the most fun I’ve ever had there in the past 25 years of going. Continue reading

Finally, a PC in the living room
Our (new) TV has more ports than I knew what to do with…until now. We’ve had the TV for just about a year and I feel like I’m just starting to take advantage of it. Unfortunately, this new avenue of geeking out may require some additional hardware…but it’ll be worth it. Continue reading
The iPad verdict, no thanks
I’m typing this entry on an iPad. My department got an ipD to test with our app and for browser testing. I got to take home for a nightb and try it out in some real-world applications, like blogging. Continue reading
Hot Wheels racing revisited, a new game
I rarely go back and revisit and/or rebuild anything. I usually work on web projects for the learning challenge and once that’s conquered, move on. I then take all what I learned and add it to the next project, so each new project gets better. However, Hot Wheels is clearly something that deserves love and attention. Continue reading
Four days, three colors and two rooms
You know those times when you need a change but you just can’t figure out what needs to change? I discovered (yet again) that painting the rooms in your house is a great, inexpensive way to make change…and best of all, it’s unchangeable if you don’t like it. Continue reading

The Couch
The couch is one of the best and worst things ever created. Combine a couch with a TV and you have an unstoppable force that single handedly kills the adventuring spirit. I’m only partially ashamed to say that I spend a lot of time attached to my couch. But if it’s something you enjoy, it’s okay to invest in that enjoyment, right? Continue reading

It’s time to thank mom. Continue reading
Don’t let Facebook kill your blog
Don’t let Facebook kill your blog. I know not everyone has their own web site or blog, but if you do, don’t let Facebook quietly kill your desire to write and voice your opinion. And for that matter, don’t let Twitter kill it either. Your blog is YOUR playground. You can do what you want there and your friends will come play with you. Continue reading
Domino’s new pizza is worse than before
I probably eat my weight in pizza each week, usually in the form of Little Caesar’s. Now before you start crying foul because LC’s is crappy pizza, keep in mind it is pizza that is only $5 for a large. But I diverged from standard practice this past weekend and tried Domino’s “new” pizza. Big mistake. Continue reading
The wrestling circus
Remember going to the circus? I remember going almost yearly when I was little and I was always excited, but then when we got there it was always a little disappointing. I guess it’s because I’m the video game generation and gas like a minibike in a sphere didn’t really amaze me. Thankfully though, as an adult there is another circus to enjoy – pro wrestling. Continue reading
What I want in a tablet PC
I love the idea of a tablet PC. They make sense to me, but whatever tablets come out this year – Apple, Microsoft, whoever – they need to include one thing for me to buy them: let me write on it.
