You know those times when you need a change but you just can’t figure out what needs to change? I discovered (yet again) that painting the rooms in your house is a great, inexpensive way to make change…and best of all, it’s unchangeable if you don’t like it.

When we got our new 46″ TV for an early Christmas present, we also got a big 46″ cardboard box that it came in. I kept the box this long for two reasons, 1) just in case it had to be returned to the store, and 2) I’ve been trained to keep anything and everything that has chance of remotely coming in handy. And believe me, large sheets of sturdy cardboard is very handy.

Sometimes crafts are really cool but complicated. Sometimes crafts are easy but not very hip. So when we were at Target and saw a could-be craft that was hip and easy, we couldn’t pass it up. Yes, this is just Stolen Idea #872 but it’s a good one. It’s cheap, easy, and quick - The Record Coaster.

I’m a collector. Or as some might call it, a pack rat. I can’t help it, it runs in my family. I come from a long line of celebrated pack rats. I also discovered that I’m not a good teacher. There’s a reason the Wife teaches and a reason …

I like logos. I’m a logo nerd. Logos are some of my favorite things to look at and design, albeit not always successful. Good logos are hard to design. I think logos are special to design because while they are meant to communicate, they don’t have to be straight forward.
Some logos are simply the name of the company in a fancy font. Some logos are abstract designs that mean nothing when taken out of context. Some logos combine the two. And many, many, many logos are just poor. What makes …

Through luck or curse, I got an intern at work. I’m not really sure how, but I’ll give credit to Human Resources for keeping my name high on their list when a random multimedia student came across their desk looking for work. I don’t really consider myself manager material and really don’t desire to be responsible for people…yet…but having an intern is great practice for when that day comes.
The biggest surprise is that I actually have enough work to keep an intern busy! Despite all the games and fun I …
