What I was afraid of happening is happening - I don't think I'm fond of my new WP theme here at the Toast. I like the idea behind, but honestly, I just don't have the motivation to keep it up. I finding the time it takes is more than I expected without very spectacular results. Some people can pull this off, I don't think I can. Maybe I'm not giving it much of a chance, but don't be surprised if the previous theme shows up one day.

I also didn't think about future switches. Even if I would have continued with this "newspaper" theme, when I switch again, what happens to all that markup I'm used to create the full page designs? When theme #102 gets applied I think it will all go kablooey.

Oh well...you never know unless you try, right? A for effort.

...and thanks for tolerating my trials. There will be more Smiley

Yeah...I think it's official - I don't like this anymore. Expect a change real soon. Maybe back to the previous theme while I work on another. Although the old one wasn't the worst I've seen.

Maybe you should give it a chance?

Well, no more chances - the Full Page theme was just too much hassle, thus you now see the new theme - quite possibly the first one that isn't "home grown."

I found this theme and just designed up a background and changed around some colors and minor code. I think it gives me the flexibility I was looking for with a more "pro" look, if that makes sense. I can still associated images with posts so as I go there will be images on the front page instead of just being a bunch of words. As with any theme change, this is new and there will probably be changes and errors. If you find any, please let me know.

Otherwise, would love to get some feedback!

I applaud your ability to find fault in your work. Especially when I didn't want to have to say anything myself. I was not a fan of the full-page thing you had going on. It was too hard to navigate off of. I like the new version (as of 1/12/09) It looks fresh, easy to navigate, I give it 4.5 stars.

Yeah, it just didn't quite cut it. I rushed the work and everything you pointed out was true. I tried to emulate what I saw and liked without much planning - never a good idea.

And thanks for the feedback about the current theme. I sense this one will stay for some time. I like it a lot and it's very flexible in how I can present and feature stories.

But when are you getting the Chris blog? Becky and Matt got there's up and going...we need tales of Mr. Mom! Wink

A Mr. Mom blog would be great! I think a lot of people can identify with it and would like to read that.
