I can’t help but still notice that a lot of commercials on radio and television still pimp web sites as being open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. And frankly, it bugs the shit out of me. Honestly, aren’t we at the point where we can assume that web sites offer their services all the time?

closedBut now, here’s a novel idea - have a web site that isn’t 24/7!! Run a web site that sells shoes or something but shutdown the site at 11pm Monday thru Friday and open later until Midnight on Saturday and then close early at 10pm on Sundays…or maybe just be closed for Sunday, like every other business. And open at 8a everyday — you know, normal business hours.

If you want to go all out, close down for an hour at lunch time. Change the home page to say “Out to lunch, back in a hour” or that window sign with the little clock you can change.
