After bitching about Mattel’s Hot Wheels web site, I decided that I could probably build a better one. So I did. It’s not a collector’s web site with a database or checklist or anything, it’s just a showcase I can use to show off and share my Hot Wheels collection.
Frankly, I think it’s pretty neat. Plus, it kept me busy during my birthday vacation. So please stop by and check it out. There’s not much to it, so don’t be surprised by the simplicity. But, that’s what is nice about - simple.

You sir have too much time.
No such thing, sir, no such thing.
Way, way, way too much time. How many do you have? I think this could become an EXPENSIVE hobby. Go clean out the garage.
Ma, you sound just like my dad!

I should put a counter on that page, huh? I’m not really sure how many cars there are. A lot.
What does the garage have to do with it?
To fit all the hot wheels.
The garage? I think it’s just because parents always think that there’s something more important to do than playing with toys… and the garage always needs cleaned if you don’t have anything better to do…

Bah! What’s more fun than toys? And the garage isn’t that dirty. And I paid some kids to rake the yard, so there’s more toy time ;)
I won’t beat on you since everyone else did it first. I honestly did not notice that you spent a lot of time on this but maybe you did. So, yeah, go clean the garage.
I didn’t spend a lot time on it, that’s the great thing. I spent probably less than an hour taking the actual pictures. Photoshop made everything else easy after that. And the web page took pretty much no time at all.
A very low overhead project, although it looks like it took effort, so maybe that’s the key: Cheap-and-easy-yet-looks-like-effort.
Simple…
Very nice site, if I new anything about xhtml I would have somehting similar, I like the slide show effect. I wanted to do a photobook effect, maybe in flash or something… (some century Ill figure that out)
Enough rambling, I like your site.
