From a DVD vending machine we move to a soda vending machine, only this one serves a little different purpose. In honor of the upcoming Halloween holiday, an interesting article in the NY Times shows how those Japanese have done it again.

They present to you pop machine camouflage for those times when you’re trying to evade a possible stalker…or something like that.

The article explains that it hasn’t actually been proven to deter any crime, but it’s a good idea that may only work in Japan where you have millions of people in a tiny little space walking by hundreds of vending machines every 20 feet.

You have to admit, that if you were just walking casually down the street and passed this costume in line with a bunch of other vending machines you really wouldn’t notice the little feet sticking out from the bottom.

Happy Halloween
