Playing around with computer hardware is not something I enjoy anymore. There was a time and place when I reveled in hardware. Since then I no longer care much about specs and just want something that works out of the box. I guess I’ve lost my techie edge. I’ve built many computers and unfortunately, I’ve also had to fix several gaming consoles, including my Xbox 360.

As you’ve maybe pieced together through my Twitter or you tuned into CAVEradio, we got our new giant TV. It’s big, it’s HD, it cost a lot…but it was an interesting turn of events that got us the TV we didn’t expect to get.

Since I’m on the computer all day at work and monitor my company’s Twitter account, I’m watching Twitter all day, my own personal account included. So when I discovered my web sites were down I tweeted about it. In reply I was told that my hosting service, 1&1, had a major outage. Curious, I started a Twitter search feed to see what people were saying about the outage. And people were pissed.

Mosey along now, nothing to see here. That’s what I saw Friday morning when I tried to log on to my Twitter account. To say it surprised me would be an understatement. And as of this posting my account is still suspended without any hint as to why or for how long…but it’s not like I haven’t tried to find out.

Like many folks, before I had an office and a salary I worked in retail. The retail experience is seemingly a rite of passage for teenagers, after all, at 15 you’re destined to end up behind some sort of cash register tending to customers and answering phones.
