When I started video game day at work, one of the first games people jumped on was Galaga. I can’t say I was ever a big Galaga fan but playing with people that remembered the game and loved the game made all the difference. Galaga high scores quickly became a daily mission and it’s one that hasn’t left me.

The lack of the arcade culture is something I’ve written about many times before. It’s something I long to see come back since I’m too young to have been there during its prime. The world on-line gaming scene makes it hard to be a local champ, so that leaves the only fun competition between you and your friends. But what if your friends play different games?

As you’ve maybe pieced together through my Twitter or you tuned into CAVEradio, we got our new giant TV. It’s big, it’s HD, it cost a lot…but it was an interesting turn of events that got us the TV we didn’t expect to get.

Outside of a house and couple cars, the new TV we bought over Thanksgiving is the single most expensive purchase we’ve ever made. Last year we wimped out. This year we were determined. Best part is, no one had to get up at the crack of dawn to get a good deal.

Despite us saying we’re not big TV people, we tend to watch a lot of TV throughout the week. But it’s scattered. One show on this night, another on that night. We’re not glued to the TV  every night gagging on Dancing with the Stars. We also don’t have a DVR so we have to watch TV when it happens or hope for reruns.
