One Box of Memories only $25
Sentimentality is curse…especially when you’re trying to clean and organize your home. We just sold a box of more than 100 CDs for a mere $25 and watching some of them go was tough, and it really shouldn’t be, should it?

The lost art of intermission
Another summer of classic movies is over. The lineup this summer was great including 20,000 Leagues, Tron and it ended with Vertigo. Every movie in the series featured an intermission and that got me wondering if intermissions could be brought back to life.

For the love of movies
One of the best things about the summertime is the CAPA Columbus Summer Movie Series, which shows old and modern classics every weekend for a couple months. This summer has had a wonderful line-up of movies including Tron, The Sound of Music, Vertigo and Airplane!, but none of those films have me more excited than [...]

The real trouble with Netflix
We’ve had Netflix for just about a year and it’s been great. Only after we got Netflix did I consider cutting the cord on normal cable TV. That hasn’t happened (and probably won’t) but that says something about Netflix…and that’s my problem with Netflix. There’s too much to watch!

Taking advantage of Netflix
Recently there’s been a lot of talk amongst friends and others about cancelling their Netflix accounts and switching to other services. We haven’t been on Netflix for too terribly long, not even a year, but I have to say there isn’t much to complain about so it kind of surprises me to hear such angst.

The Walking Dead, a world without zombies?
The zombie survival TV show “The Walking Dead” on AMC just ended after what was a successful - albeit short - first season…at least if you look at the ratings. But was it a success to zombie fans like myself?

Netflix, resistance is futile
I’m not afraid to admit when I’m wrong. Now I might argue my case for days before I make that admission, but you can’t argue with facts. And the fact is, Netflix is awesome. I had my doubts but after as little as two days with Netflix it has come to be that resistance was [...]

Help us buy a new TV
Despite us saying we’re not big TV people, we tend to watch a lot of TV throughout the week. But it’s scattered. One show on this night, another on that night. We’re not glued to the TV every night gagging on Dancing with the Stars. We also don’t have a DVR so we have to [...]

Where the Wild Things Are
When I saw Lord of the Rings I said it would be the movie by which other movies would be compared against when it game to visual effects. I said that would stand for 10 years. I was wrong, because Where the Wild Things Are is the new bar to reach for future movies. But [...]

Transformers 2, I’m glad it was free
If you’ve followed my Twitters and even tuned in to the recent CAVEradio episode, you already know that I gave Transformers 2 a piss poor review. I had free passes to see the midnight showing on opening night and while the price was right for the tickets, the ultimate price of losing three hours of [...]

Chasing Ghosts, beyond King of Kong
If you’re a gamer then you have seen King of Kong, or at least you better have. A tale of one man’s quest to fight evil and become the Donkey Kong champion. King of Kong was a quasi-documentary, really only showing probably one side of the tale, but nonetheless it is extremely entertaining (even if [...]

What others can learn from Star Trek
The new Star Trek movie did it right. It’s too bad other movies that are based on old franchises won’t pay attention to what Star Trek has done. Movies like G.I. Joe and even Transformers can stand to learn from Star Trek. It’s all about balance - finding that sweet spot between hardcore fans and [...]
