We’ve had Netflix for just about a year and it’s been great. Only after we got Netflix did I consider cutting the cord on normal cable TV. That hasn’t happened (and probably won’t) but that says something about Netflix…and that’s my problem with Netflix. There’s too much to watch! Continue reading

The new TV, part 1

Help us buy a new TV
Despite us saying we’re not big TV people, we tend to watch a lot of TV throughout the week. But it’s scattered. One show on this night, another on that night. We’re not glued to the TV every night gagging on Dancing with the Stars. We also don’t have a DVR so we have to watch TV when it happens or hope for reruns. Personally, I like that part of TV watching, but one thing that has gotten on my nerves over the past couple years is the size of our TV. Continue reading
Pitchmen, as seen on TV
There are two challenges I love to face, presentation and efficiency. While I find the efficiency challenges are far more rewarding, I love thinking about how to present things to people effectively, how to communicate, educate. The Discovery Channel’s new show, Pitchmen, shows just how important presentation is to selling products. We are all too familiar with the As Seen on TV products, but this show highlights the true circus that is infomercials. Continue reading
